The Biggest Loser League

I'm so glad to be part of this group. I've been trying to lose weight God's way for 3 years now. I have such a hard time treating my body as His temple. Thank you for the opportunity for support from fellow believers.

 I am 27 from Wisconsin. I have been overweight since my teens because of PCOS and insulin-resistance. I am married to a man who is bipolar and have 2 step sons from his first marriage.

Some of the things that I like doing to exercise: rollerblading, geocaching/letterboxing, running with my dog, and treadmill tempo runs. I like eating everything! My favorite "healthy" foods are a 3-point personal pizza (lite Flat-outs, home made sauce, 14 turkey pepperoni, and 1 oz lite mozz cheese), peaches, and skim milk. My biggest down falls/binge foods are ice cream, frozen pizza, and pies/crisps. I don't get a lot of weightloss support at home, as my husband and children do not have much capacity to look beyond themselves yet (we're working on it and it's getting better).

I get most of my support from my extended family who live 3 hours away. We talk weekly and between the 4 women in my family that I'm in touch with, they have lost 165 lbs and counting (my sis wants to lose 5 more and my aunt wants 10 more). Once I lose my 60 lbs, we're all going away for a weekend. Yay! They have lost their weight using weightwatchers, but I intend to do carb and calorie counting. It has worked for me in the past, I'll do it again. I've been a Christian since I was 21, although I was raised in the church. My favorite verse is Psalm 37:4. :-D

 So, that's my intro. thank you again for this awesome group.

I am new here. I joined on the 7th I believe. I have been looking for a team with lots of Christian members. I believe I have found that in this team. I am so looking forward to getting and giving support with the team. I personally have right at 150 lbs. to lose. That is more than half my body weight. I am taking a Christian approach to weight loss, having read and believed in the Weigh Down Diet by Gwen Shamblin. I think every Christian should read it, and consider it because it has changed my life more than any diet could. It is about a lifestyle change brought about through love and trust in the Father. All children of God should excel in this endeavor. He loves us and is on our side. Through Christ all things are possible, and He will supply all of our needs through His riches in glory. please add me as a contact. Hello All,

I just joined the team today. I am trying to lose the weight that I am carrying around with me because I am tried of my knees and legs hurting so much during the day. I do have a physical disablity. I have Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis if any one out there can help with finding different ways of exercising without causing a great strain on my joints it would be much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to help me in my guest to lose my weight.

I just wanted to let people know that I have been tring to lose weight for a lond time now.  I have tried many things, and can never loss but a few pounds and then gain it all back plus.  I have now turned it over to the Lord and I seen this team and tought YES.  I'm really hopeing that with a little help and a team that has the Lord I might be able to succeed this time.  I have back problems and can't really do much but walk.  I try to walk at least 1 mile a day.  I have been doing that since April 16th.  I don't walk on the weekends.  Just Mon. - Fri.  I try to watch what I eat.  I hope that all of you can help me to stay focused and on track.
