You and I possess within ourselves, at every moment, under all circumstances, the power to transform the quality of our lives. It takes wisdom to be able to use this power, in even the most difficult of times, in order to succeed in whatever task you approach. So, you eat a cookie, or three, use your wisdom to walk away, knowing you enjoyed those cookies, while also choosing to walk away before you eat any more!! You can and will succeed at this throughout this holiday season, and we will all be here beside you, sharing in your victory. Happy, blessed holidays to you and yours!!

It's time to get your bells on and lets get in the spirit!! I wanna see some rockin'-round the-Christmas-Tree-shakin'-your-antlers fun going on around here!!!Time to get your Christmas Groove on!!!You're doing a great job-you're becoming healthier and more confident, comfortable in your own skin, what a wonderful way to begin a new year. A little quote I found today sums it all up:" LUCK has a particular HABIT of favoring those who don't DEPEND on it. So BELIEVE IN YOURSELF and find a way to achieve it."

My thoughts today---Experiment to create your own success story and invent your new self, grow with the process of breaking rules, making new ones, and messing up all along the way, and yes, above all else, have fun doing it all!! Plans for the BIG holiday to come?? And, Thanksgiving, how'd that go for you? I know this is a rough time of year for those of us trying to lose weight, but we CAN be successful-just remember to smile and enjoy the journey as much as the destination! Another fun weigh in tomorrow--are you ready??

Hey cutie! What's up? How are you liking this chatty team? They're keeping you busy I hope.........start checking the team page for daily challenges: as I'm beginning to feel better, I'll be reposting them, I've been slacking. The big monthly challenge is over at the boards, if you haven't found them yet.Tomorrow is the first show since they booted Tracey!! I cannot wait to see what Jillian and Bob think of her being gone! And my little quote for the day: Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them - Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you're keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that Work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - Family, Health, Friends and Spirit - are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it." Bryan Dyson --- Submitted by Dr. Rajesh Buddhadev --- India

Hi Amanda, I love jogging in the rain too, especially if I can come home to a nice warm shower! That's great that you are working to become a lawyer! What area of law are you specializing in? My background is mostly in accounting. I had an accounting teacher in High School that somehow made accounting very appealing to me. I went to college dreaming of becoming a Certified Public Accountant. But the more I got into it, the more I realized that what I enjoyed was bookkeeping. I couldn't care less about taxes and such. I got married in my Junior year of College and found it difficult to work, go to school, study and spend time with my hubby. I kick myself now, but I dropped out of school. However, anything I learned about business and accounting helped me throughout my working career. So how is your week going? Are you sticking to your eating and fitness plan?

Hi Amanda, How is your day going? You asked me what I like to do for exercise. I enjoy taking a walk with my dog. Back in 2001 I lost some weight and got down to my goal weight of 132 lbs. I had taken up jogging 2 miles, 3 times a week. I kept up jogging for about 5 years and got sort of burned out on it. Then I joined a gym and enjoyed the variety of exercise machines and jogged occasionally on the indoor track. Then I got an ingrown toenail that took f-o-r-e-v-e-r to heal and that slowed my exercise down. Then my life got really stressful beginning in 2005 and I started eating too much. I slowly started gaining weight, about one pound a month. Now I'm up 50 pounds above my goal weight. So I started walking my dog on my old jogging route and just this past week I started to turn my walking into jogging. I live in a typical American subdivision and I basically walk from one mailbox to the next mailbox, then I jog to the next mailbox, slow down and walk to the next mailbox then jog again. I'm really not enjoying it too much right now but I know that as I start to see improvement it will get more fun. My dog absolutely loves going on these excursions so that motivates me a lot! I also enjoy a good stretch in the mornings and then I do the daily challenges from this blog. Sometimes I take a four mile bike ride around my neighbor hood, but it is getting a little cold for that. My husband and I are thinking of buying an exercise bike sometime soon. When I get the house to myself I like to turn up music and dance. I used to be on a dance team back in High School. I also love to swim if I get anywhere near a pool. Wow, that is probably more than you wanted to know! What kind of work are you in?

Welcome to The DownSizers! It's so great to have you. Weigh days are on Mondays, you just need to have your weight posted on your profile by midnight. Click on the little inch work on the bottom left side of your profile to get to the team page. That's also where you will find the daily challenges. You can find the Big monthly challenges on the msg boards. All challenges are optional but are great for motivation! Also, check out out team chat, recipe, and exercise thread. Good luck on your weight loss journey! We are in this together!
