I was shocked to log in to see I was the featured member, but it is also a good feeling. We are all here trying to achieve the same goal, and we all know that we need support along the way. I have a great team on here that gives support and encouragement, and not just with weight loss either. All aspects of our daily lives ultimately effect our weight loss goals, we just have to learn a good balance.
I have struggled with my weight ever since junior high, but didn't really ever seem to care before. I care now, not because I want to impress anyone or to become a skinny person, but because I have 3 kids that need me to be healthy. I want to be healthy, and I want to have the energy to do things with my kids. However, I am not the type of person to cut out all the foods that are not healthy, because I know I won't stick to a diet that way. So I include some once a week and in moderation. As I get further along with my progress I have noticed some of the foods I used to love, I can go without for long periods of time. And sometimes when I eat one of those foods it doesn't taste as good as it used to. One of those foods is chocolate, I could go a long time without eating it. I had some the other day and after two bites I had to stop eating. It just tasted awful.
As for exercising it is something I actually enjoy doing, but don't always like to do it in front of people. My kids and I will take walks at the park of an evening, and they are rewarded with playtime at the park. So while they play I walk more. I have started setting my alarm for an hour earlier and I will get up and work out in the mornings before work. Some days I don't always make it up to get that morning workout in, but I don't fret over it. Your body knows what it needs so you have to listen to it in order to succeed was well. I do change it up every so often so my body doesn't get used to doing the same thing, which also helps with losing weight.
Now one key piece of advice I can tell all of you is not to let a gain or only a little loss get you down. I did that for years and would just give up working out. Since joining here I have gone back and forth with my weight, but life is starting to get balanced for me again so hopefully things will fall back into place. Keep your head and telling yourself you can reach your goals, and you will get there. Don't let someone telling you that you can't do something from trying, because when you achieve your goals you will be proud of yourself and the person who said you couldn't will have to eat their words. WE CAN DO ANYTHING, so lets go do it!
