Crazy days..
Posted by: mrbks22 on
I woke up this evening (Thursday night, 10PM) to get ready for work. The news was on and I saw the report of the FBI arresting a person, AFTER he had parked a car UNDER a building in Dallas and attempted to blow it up. He was unaware the bomb in the car was fake because the FBI had someone working with him the whole time. I used to work in that building...and on the news you can see the building I work in now in the shots from helicopters. That was CRAZY! As I was saying, I woke up at 10 after 8 glorious hours of sleep. Wow wow wow!! I could get used to that. I had 7 total hours sleep in the previous 48 so I was completely wiped out. That's where I've been the last two days and not logging in...I was just too tired to spend any extra time at the computer. I'm going to try to respond to all the peeps who have posted positive, uplifting comments to me...you just don't know how much those lift me up! I've had another trying week with the work schedule and all that, but I'm convinced that anything is possible. I don't have any overtime scheduled for the next month (after Friday) so I'm going to be hitting the gym hard next week. My goal is to run a complete 5K (no walking) by October 10th. I'll get this weight roller coaster going in the right direction sooner rather than later and I really, really appreciate all of your support!! On a side note, I still haven't seen BL episode 2, but will over the weekend. An thus ends another train wreck of a blog post....careening from topic to topic with a few crazy turns here and there! Keep on movin' my friends!
Hurtin' today...but in a good way

Some of you know the story, but back before summer started I really hurt my shoulder lifting weights. It was a big blow to my workout routine as I was lifting weight 3 times a week. I had worked up to using some pretty good weights in my workouts--50 pound dumbbells and 150 pound bench presses.....anyway, one day I felt a pain in my shoulder that was like someone stuck me with a knife. My doctor said it was a rotator cuff strain and I couldn't lift weights for three weeks. I was devastated and it really put a damper on my weight loss efforts. Three weeks stretched into five weeks. The doctor said if I didn't let it heal, then I might be looking at surgers so I really did try to let it heal. Summer arrived and I didn't lift weights all summer. My shoulder is feeing great (for know) so on Wednesday I decided to ease my way back into weightlifting. I didn't overdo it or do too many types of lifts, but boy am I sore today. My shoulders and arms are killing me. BUT it feels so good to know it came from a good workout. I'm ready to get back to where I was and beyond!! I'm looking forward to weighing in on Mondays for the Tuesday episodes. Everyone have a great day!

Frustration....and a breakthrough
Posted by: mrbks22 on
Well, I'm not sure how many people will read this, but I finally broke through the internet cobwebs and was able to log on to the site today. It wouldn't work for me the last couple of days and as of right now I can't post on the Team Blog (it says we don't have one) and the message boards won't come up either. Alas, life and the journey, go on. The breakthrough comes in the 1 pound loss this week--it's a small start (re-start number 3 or 4 actually) and I'll celebrate it. Only 27 to reach the end of year goal! All of you keep your heads up high and your butt in motion--WE WILL SUCCEED!!
