I got an encouraging report from the Dr. today regarding my shoulder. He worked my arm over pretty good and said he was sure it was just Rotater Cuff irritation. I learned a lot about the shoulder and how it works. Apparently the top muscle in the rotator cuff (there are 4 muscles there) got pinched between two bones, which is what caused the stabbing pain when I first hurt it. Basically, I'm on anti-inflammatory meds for a while with no surgery. If it doesn't improve in two weeks then I might need a cortisone shot. No weight lifting of any kind for two weeks, and after that, if it is better when I go back for a check up, I can start lifting again. He said it would best for the long term if I NEVER did any of the lifts where I go straight over my head. That I will wait and see about, but as far as other types of excercise, he said I could go back to any cardio, running, etc as long as I was comfortable with it. I'll get back to some basic cardio tomorrow to test it out and then I plan on starting the C25K program on Monday. Overall, I was very happy with the report he gave me. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and well wishes.
