If you read my blog from Sunday you know I had a good week and weekend. Today, was different. I had a major setback. Last week my left shoulder was a little sore after my Wednesday workout. I didn't lift weights on Friday to give it a rest. I didn't have any issues with it this weekend or during warmup for the Monday workout. I was doing some inclined shoulder presses with a dumbell weight I've been using for a couple of weeks. On rep number 7, I felt that soreness come back, and on rep number 8, my shoulder gave out and it felt like someone stabbed me with a knife and twisted it around. I guess I was lucky the weight didn't land on me when I dropped it... The trainer at the desk said it sounded like a rotater cuff problem. Needless to say, I left and called my orthopedic doctor. I'll see him on Wednesday morning. Unfortunately, I'm shutting down the weight training until then at least and probably for awhile (if the news is bad). I'll have to see what the doctor says I can do. I'll keep eating right and walking at least. I was deep in the middle of a pity party when life slapped me in the face. I still have my job. I still have my family and my overall health. I still have all of you. My stepbrother is going back to Iraq for the fourth time!! In the face of this news, this is a minor issue and it may slow me down a little, but it won't stop me. I'm still shooting for that 100 pound loss by the end of May.
