Ok fam! I got some kinda sucky news yesterday at work. A couple of the parents of the kids recently lost their jobs, so we are losing 1 (maybe 2 kids). The school was already down on enrollment this year. They usually have 18 kids, but they have 14 now.. and may have only 12. Anyway, now they can't really afford to have me. Luckily, they really like me and want to keep me on, so instead of letting me go, they are cutting back my hours. From 5 hours (which was gonna turn into 6 in just a couple of weeks), to a mere 3 hours a day! They also said that this has never happened before, and if they just get one more kid enrolled, they can afford to give me my hours back. They had 2 families looking last week, so I might get the hours back sooner than later. I told them that for now I was willing to stick it out with them, cause I really like it there. We are all just hoping for the best. I didn't mind taking part time work when I started looking. I was hoping for at least 5 hours a day when I started looking, and was willing to take 4 at the bare minimum. But 3 is pushing it! I know I can manage for a little while with these hours, but if it doesn't look up soon, I will have to look elsewhere. I don't have a lot of options right now anyway cause my unemployment was just about to run out.. and we all know it's easier to find a job once you have one anyway. So.. send good vibes my way everyone! I rly like this job and want to be able to stay!
