You Lift Me Up Challenge #3

Who Inspires You?
Well, obviously a huge part of what inspires me is The Biggest Loser. Everything I can get out of it really. The people, the trainers, the exercise videos, the books. And of course, The Biggest Loser League!!! I love it here. I get inspired just by coming to this site, by hearing everyone's stories, being a part of their journeys, doing challenges, building friendships, interacting, getting advice and encouragement, and being a part of The Chubby Network. Everyday I feel inspired being here. With the show, I was epecially inspired by Kristin this week. She is a bigger girl, like me, and she was able to keep jumping that board right up until the end. I was so proud and happy for her. Really, TBL inspires me in countless ways. I am also inspired by anyone who has taken steps to a healthier lifestyle, and anyone that supports people who do. I know how difficult it is. I am inspired by my mom who has done a lot of dieting in the past and is wiser for it and able to give me tips and advice. I am inspired by my husband who supports and loves me no matter what and who has overcome so much hardship and pain in his life and came out on the other end stronger, healthier, happier, and a better person. I am also insired by myself because I never thought I would make it even this far. I am healthier, I have more energy, I feel happier, I have more confidence, and I have lost weight. I try to help whoever I can, and I am determined to reach my goals! Nothing can stop me but me, and I can't let myself!

PORTION DISTORTION- mini challenge
I did find out recently how much portion sizes have increased in that last few decades. I read an article about someone who bought a house from the 50's, went to put their dishes away in the cabinets, and were frustrated to find out that they didn't fit. They wondered who would make cabintes that didn't fit average size dishes! They did some research and discovered that an average size plate then, is more like our salad plate now. That is how much portions have grown here. And that is mostly in the US. In other countries, they still have smaller portions. No wonder our obesity rate is so high! Who the hell kept gradually increasing our plates!? I didn't do so well on the first portions quiz, but I did much better on the second one. It is very interesting to see the actual size differences of each item. CRAZY!
