As I have said, even though I ultimately want to lose 150 pounds or more, I have set up a bunch of small goals for myself. That way, I can feel really proud of myself and more motivated whenever I reach one. Otherwise, I would constantly be thinking about how far away my goal is and be really disappointed in myself for not reaching it fast enough. The biggest step for me was to just begin this journey. I look back and can't believe I let it get this far. I started on my road to weight loss on October 20, 2008 weighing my heaviest at 367.4 pounds. After my first week of dieting, I lost 9.2 pounds. I was so excited! It's now been almost 6 weeks and I've lost a total of 23.4 pounds! I am lucky enough to have the support of my husband, who went on the diet with me, and to date has lost 16.68 pounds. I hope that I am able to continue to stay motivated and I thank everyone for their support and for sharing their stories!
