A troubling thought, sorta

Call me vain, but . . .

Resolution

*I resolve to walk 10,000 steps per day, recorded by my pedometer.
*I resolve to keep a food and fitness journal.
*By Spring, I resolve to wake up before morning classes to walk/run at the track for no less than forty minutes.
Epiphany, maybe

You know, I seriously cannot comprehend why it is with all my complaining and my defeatist attitude how I do not take the animosity I feel towards my figure and transform that into motivation. How is it that every waking day I'm prodding my fat, that it does not serve as incentive to get in shape, to lose weight?! Admittedly so, I've done everything short of consistent physical activity to change my appearance. Healthy eating usually lasts, at most, three weeks before I find it mundane and fall off the wagon. I have to ask myself "Really, though?" Is it really that difficult to make a commitment that is basically resisting certain foods and exercising? I'm going to have to say that, yes, it is. My problem is that I think I need someone to blow smoke up my butt rather than find the inspiration within myself. I do need help, but at the same time, I wish to accomplish it on my own. I am twenty years old and honestly still have not lived. Even the most minimal of experiences, I'm holding back until I am certain I have a 100% chance of attaining happiness. Scanning this entry, I feel as though I sound self-absorbed, especially seeing all the "I"s but it does start with me. (Heh, my behavior really does allow me to get familiar and comfortable with the term self-conscious) I do have what it takes, but what I do with that potential remains to be seen . . .
